Ground Stand-off Platform

The Firth Ground Stand-off Platform (GSP) provides a practical means to enable a variety of explosive hazard detect & neutralization systems to be used with a variety of existing and future manned and unmanned tracked and wheeled vehicles.

The Stand-off Platform includes a toolbar system onto which the explosive hazard detect and neutralization equipment can be mounted. This provides a standoff of several meters away from the front of the vehicle.  The open architecture employed enables convenient electrical interfaces.

The Stand-off platform uses the Firth path tracking system to automatically steer the platform ahead of the vehicle along the path to be taken by the vehicle as it travels straight ahead as well as when  making a turn.

The height of the toolbar is adjusted to suit operational requirements of alternative tools and to maintain mobility.

When not required for explosive hazard detection and neutralization operations, the Ground Stand-off platform can be un-hitched from the front of the vehicle and towed behind it.
